NFC for Android

Stollmann has released the NFaCe+A API for Android. It makes all NFC features accessible for developers integrating NFC into their applications.

NFaCe+A has been designed according to the Android architecture and Android documentation rules. Major targets are:

  • Enables NFC applications for app stores
  • abstracted from the underlaying NFC chip
  • hardware independent
  • support for all NFC features
  • support for all NFC modes (reader/writer, card emulation, peer-to-peer)
  • Legacy RFID and contactless card technologies supported
  • vendor specific extensions possible
  • easy to program

The specification has been released. An embedded implementation on a standard Beagle board running Android has been developed. A development kit will be available soon.

Stollmann intends to cooperate with major NFC stack vendors to define a common API for NFC in Android.
