The Board Support Package (BSP) for the BlueMod+P2x/G2 Bluetooth module allows customers to use the onboard processor for own applications and thus save another application processor in their design. The BSP is based on a completely Open Source tool chain. It can be used with the Eclipse IDE and the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC).
A powerful API (SBSP API) allows the user to easily control the hardware functions of the Bluetooth module to connect design specific external components like sensors and other I/O circuitry.
Stollmanns proven Bluetooth protocol stack BlueCode+ is running on the processor of the BlueMod+P2x/G2 module and offers very reliable, full featured Bluetooth communication. BlueBSP+ supports HDP and SPP connections, similar to the firmware in standard Bluetooth modules. BlueCode+ is controlled by the application via the comprehensive and easy to use BlueHDP+ API.
BlueBSP+ contains demo applications in source code. The applications show the user how to control the modules hardware interfaces and allow establishing a Bluetooth connection with the evaluation boards included in the package or other Bluetooth devices.
The BlueMod+P2x/G2 come with a Cortex-M3 ST32F103 core and use a BC06 HCI chip as RF-frontend. About 38kb of the Flash memory of the Cortex-M3 are available for customer specific applications, in addition to 24kb of memory located in the Bluetooth modules NVRAM.
